NYCN Inducts Leaders in Rivers, Four Other States

To strengthen youth leadership for inclusivity, equity, and effectiveness across its council in five states, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has instated new executives to champion youth development and empowerment.

NYCN President Sukubo Sara-Igbe charged the elected officials with the responsibility to provide innovative, impactful, and exemplary leadership as they take up their respective roles.

This was disclosed in a statement shared through the Media Unit from the Office of the President, NYCN, following the expiration of the previous executives’ tenure.

Following the elective congresses held in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Osun, Kano, and Kaduna States respectively, Ambrose Okpor emerged as Rivers Chairman, followed by Adadika Sokari as Deputy Chairman, Obomanu Andrew as Secretary, and for Rivers West, Prince Egbelekro emerged as Vice Chairman, among others.

In a similar vein, Akinbode Oluwasegun emerged as Osun State Chairman, Kayode Alex as Deputy Chairman, Monsur Akere as Secretary, and Oladoye Abiodun as Vice Chairman of Osun Central.

In Kano State, Muhammed Sule emerged as Chairman, Ahmad Adam as Deputy Chairman, Asmad Bukar as Secretary, and Yusuf Muhammed as Vice Chairman, Kano Central.

Also, to promote youth welfare and development in the state, Umar Abubakar emerged as the Chairman in Kaduna State, supported by Zailani Musa as the elected Deputy Chairman, Isitfanus Ayuba as Secretary, and Mubarak Abubakar as Vice Chairman, Kaduna North.

Then in Akwa Ibom State, Uduak Rueben, was appointed as the Chairman of the caretaker committee, marking as the female to head the youth council, while Isaac Ebrewong was appointed as Secretary, and Usen Johnson as the Public Relations Officer.

Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, a caretaker committee was established pending the conduct of an elective congress.
