The Administrator of Tai Local Government Area, Sir Chief Nukha Gbipah, has arrived at the council secretariat to commence his official duties. Although there’s no specific information on his agenda, his counterpart, Hon. Matthew Nenubari Dike, the Chairman of Tai LGA, has demonstrated a commitment to building a stronger and united Tai.
In a past address, Dike emphasised prioritising the people’s interests and urged aggrieved parties to join hands with his administration. Given the current challenges faced by the region, including environmental degradation and inadequate infrastructure due to oil extraction activities, the new administrator’s tasks may involve addressing these pressing issues.
In a further touching gesture of gratitude, Sir Chief Nukha Gbipah, the Administrator of Tai Local Government Area, personally presented each staff member at the council secretariat with a gift of N20,000. This thoughtful act not only uplifts the spirits of the employees but also underscores the administrator’s dedication to acknowledging and rewarding their tireless efforts.

Such displays of generosity can significantly transform workplace culture, cultivating a deep sense of community, loyalty, and enthusiasm among staff. By openly valuing his team, Sir Chief Nukha Gbipah establishes a positive and inspiring tone for his leadership, which could lead to enhanced productivity, greater job satisfaction, and stronger team cohesion.
This meaningful gesture also highlights the administrator’s people-centred leadership approach, emphasising the importance of his staff’s well-being and morale. As he embarks on his tenure, this act of goodwill lays a strong foundation for a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive work environment, fostering trust and mutual respect between the administration and its employees.
Recall that Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), the sole administrator of Rivers State, appointed Chief Nukha alongside other administrators for all 23 Local Government Areas, disregarding a Federal High Court order in Port Harcourt that prohibited such appointments. Ibas also named Michael Odey as the new chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) and reconstituted several previously suspended boards of agencies, commissions, and parastatals.
