If you are Angry i’m working for Tinubu, go hug transformer – Wike

At the recent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Congress in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, reaffirmed his satisfaction with serving in President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Despite being a chieftain of the opposition PDP, Wike remains unapologetic about his decision, stating, “We are fully in government. We are fully in Tinubu’s government. I have no regrets about it, and I will continue to be there. Anybody who is angry should go and hug Transformer.”

Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister has sparked discussions, with some linking it to his contribution to Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election. His decision to work against his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the election, has also been cited as a reason for his appointment.

However, Wike remains resolute in his commitment to the current administration, despite calls from some PDP members to sanction him for his perceived dalliance with the ruling party.

In his speech, Wike also addressed his successor, Governor Siminalyi Fubara, and other PDP governors, warning against attempts to wrestle the party’s structure in Rivers from his grasp. He emphasized his determination to maintain control, stating, “I will put fire in their states… I’ve told them, now you have started, when I will start, don’t say I’m the one that destroyed PDP, you are the one that is trying to destroy PDP.”

Wike’s unwavering stance has sparked intense debate within the PDP, highlighting the complexities of political allegiances and the challenges of navigating party loyalty. As the situation unfolds, one thing is clear: Minister Wike remains steadfast in his commitment to the Tinubu administration, even as he faces criticism from within his own party.
