FRSC gets new commanding officer for 4 south-south states

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has posted Assistant Corps Marshal, Henry Benamaisia as the Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers States.

 

This was made known in a statement signed by SRC Michael S. John who is the Superintendent Route Commander
Ag. Zonal Public Education Officer
Zone RS6, Port Harcourt.

The statement reads: “Following the recent posting of Senior Officers in the Federal Road Safety Corps, Assistant Corps Marshal Henry Benamaisia has assumed duty as the new Zonal Commanding Officer to pilot the affairs of the Zone comprising (Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa States).

“He took over from Assistant Corps Marshal Jonathan A. Owoade who has since assumed duty as Zonal Commanding Officer RS2, Lagos.

“Assistant Corps Marshal Henry Benamaisia was the immediate past Sector Commander of RS11.1, Osun State (January 2023 – March 2024).

“He is a seasoned road safety administrator with track records in promoting the course of Road Safety in Nigeria.

“During the course of his tour of duty in the Corps, he served as
– Sector Commander RS5.1, Edo State (2019 – 2023)
– Head of Section, Policy, National Headquarters.

“Assistant Corps Marshal Henry Benamaisia is a Fellow, of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (FISPON), a recipient of the Road Safety Star Award, and a Corps Marshal’s commendation for outstanding performance. He also attended some professional trainings within and outside the country.

“In his inaugural address to Commanding Officers during the Zonal Operators meeting held on Thursday 18th April 2024, he emphasized that his administration will focus on coordinating the state Commands to;-
Accomplishing a 5% reduction of road traffic Deaths and injuries within the Zone through robust stakeholder collaboration. Public enlightenment, Advocacy visits and effective Operational activities and prompt response to crash emergency.”
