A High Court sitting in Sakpenwo in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers state has adjourned to 19 December 2023, for bail consideration of former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Area.
Sunny Bekanwa is facing a count charge of sponsorship of cultists that killed Dr. Lucky Keena and Engineer Deyaa Dunsara in the Khana Local government Area, an offense for which some Defendants are already standing trial at the state high court.
Bekanwa is reported to have failed in his bail application bid in the Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt and later approached the Federal High Court before proceeding to Rivers State High Court in Sakpenwo to apply for bail.
During the court proceedings, the trial Judge, Justice Daketima Gabriel-Kio after listening to the submission of counsels in the matter, adjourned to 19 December 2023 for bail application.
Our correspondent reports that Rivers State Police command had filed information before P.C Igwe of Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt where the Defendant is expected to take a plea on the sponsorship of cultists charge.
