2023: Don’t waste your votes on aspirants who came to ‘chop money’ – Amaechi tells Edo delegates

Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, has warned that if his host party must win the upcoming general elections, they must put forward the right candidate.

Amaechi, who made the assertion at the Constantia Hotel, Benin city while meeting with APC’s Edo delegates maintained that the electability of a candidate should be essential for the delegate, urging them not to sell their votes.

“Politicians will come to ask for your votes, but please, as South-South people, as politicians, as good people of Nigeria, don’t waste your votes. The problem with politicians is you.

“The elites have shown you that they are here to chop money and you allow them. They will bring money here and say you should vote for them, and nobody will care to ask ‘what was he before now, what is his performance?’

“The economy they want to come and manage, how have they performed?

“The electability of a candidate is essential for you, if not, the APC will lose the election,” he noted.

The former Rivers governor also reiterated that as governor, he placed emphasis on infrastructural and human capital development as well as provided solutions to the security challenges in the state.

“Be asking the many presidential aspirants critical questions. If you ask the right questions, most of the presidential aspirants will not indicate interest to vie. I have come with experience to serve. I found a solution to the insecurity in Rivers State.

“If the presidential aspirants give you money, collect it, but vote your conscience, in order to move Nigeria forward. How much did they have before? Where did they get the money they are now spending? I can account for my period in office. Vote according to the capacity of the presidential aspirants. I am assuring you that if you vote for me, you will not regret it.”
