Police parade fake CSP, others for invasion of Justice Odili’s house

The Nigeria Police Force has paraded 14 suspects responsible for the invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s home in Abuja.

Among the suspects was a fake Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Lawrence Ajojo and 13 others, who the police said were impostors and did not belong to any of the nation’s security agencies.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Frank Mba, said the 14 suspects and 7 others now at large conspired to raid the residence following information that Justice Odili, had a large sum of money in foreign currencies in her home.

However, they were prevented from gaining entry into her residence following the resistance of the security operatives attached to the residence.

Mba, while commending the resistance at Odili’s residence said that it could have been the greatest embarrassment to the nation before the International community if the operation had succeeded.

Speaking to journalists, the fake CSP Ajojo admitted that he is not an officer of the Nigeria Police but a consultant to the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

“I am not an officer of the Nigeria Police but a consultant for the AGF; he did not send us to raid Mrs Odili’s house,” he said.

However, the AGF had in a statement by his spokesman, Umar Gwandu, denied links with the accused Ajodo.

According to him, it was only evil minds that would assume he engaged “a quack or fake police officer to serve as his consultant.”

The AGF noted that investigations have commenced to help disclose personalities behind the invasion and the sponsored campaign of slander against him.

“This is an orchestrated attempt to stir unnecessary controversies and Public apprehension. We asked the suspect to present documents of engagements where he worked as a consultant to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, whether in past or now.

“Consultant for what? Which activity or assignment? When was he engaged? What were the terms of references for the alleged consultancy service? When was he engaged?

“Where was he engaged? Which worked has he executed for the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and the Ministry of Justice? For what duration? And for how much?

“We boldly and unequivocally challenge the fake consultant/police officer to come out with answers or responses to these questions to the general public,” the statement added.
