The Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria PGAN says it will work with multinationals and government agencies to organize different tournaments for golfers in Nigeria.

The President of Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria PGAN Johnbull Ngofa said this ahead of the fundraising/Gala Night and induction of the former President Goodluck Jonathan as the Grand Patron of the PGAN built for Lagos on November 19th, 2021.

The seasoned professional golfer said Nigeria professional golfers need to play adequate tournaments to be at par with their foreign counterparts.

He noted that the Gala Night will be used to raise funds for PGA to organize its programmes.

Johnbull said ”It’s all about changing the narratives. It’s all about reducing the high rates of criticism and identifying the problem in collaboration with the government. I think the Nigerian youths need to also adjust the way we look at things from afar. We need to come in and change our leadership system. We cannot change anything from far. We cannot change anything from crime. So, the PGA of Nigeria has decided to dynamize its way of thinking. We’re trying to reform our pattern of operation. We’ve come to see how we can synergize and identify with the leadership system. It doesn’t matter who the leader is”.

The President of the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria PGAN Johnbull Ngofa also appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, government agencies, and the media to give adequate attention to the game of golf.

He said that golf can boost the tourism potential of Nigeria if given adequate sponsorship.

”So this is why as an organization we thought of it that we cannot continue to fold our arms and watch things go wrong. So how can we also fight this insurgency, how do we also fight youth restiveness. It’s all about coming together and raising funds and engaging the ones under our watch. Because if we let go, if they don’t work, they may identify wrongly with society. So we want to hold back onto what we have and watch how many lives we can use that platform to touch” he said.
