A Customary Court sitting in Choba Community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has ordered Delight Mortuary and Home service limited located at Ogbakiri Junction in Emohua Local Government Area, to immediately release the corpse of late Rose Amah to her family for burial.

The Court presiding Chairman, Ndamati, gave the ruling on the ex-parte application brought by the Claimants Counsel, E. Worlu which sought the order of court for the release of late Rose Amah corpse to his clients from Rumuoro village in Ogbakiri Community.

Friday Amah and Hope Amah who are claimants in the suit had prayed the Court to order Achor Acheru, son of late Rose Amah and the mortuary management to release the corpse of their sister, which the court had earlier directed that both parties should bury the decease according to Ogbakiri tradition and culture.

The court, however, granted the ex-parte order requested by the Claimants Counsel following reports of refusal by the 1st Defendant to release the receipt for the corpse and directed that it must be obeyed with immediate effect.

Our Correspondent gathered that Achor Acheru whom late Rose Amah gave birth to before divorcing his father had insisted on burying his mother in order to be bequeathed with right to inherit her properties as first son, but was been resisted by members of his maternal home, which is in connection to the sharing of Estate belonging to the deceased.
