Air Peace planes land at Anambra International Cargo, Passenger Airport

Anambra International cargo and passenger airport, Umueri witnessed the arrival of test commercial flights, today.

The flights landed at the airport at 2:15 pm, 2:44 pm and at 3:30 pm respectively.

The event had the presence of the state’s governor, Chief Willie Obiano, his wife, and his entourage.

Two airplanes that landed were from Air Peace airlines, owned and operated by Anambra-born Chief Allen Onyema.

The 3rd aircraft, was a private jet that brought in visitors to the event.

Governor Obiano expressed his joy on the project, saying that, the 30 years old dream, scaled above the travails of covid 19 pandemic.

He expressed that the vision and mission of his administration, is to build a direct bridge between Anambra and the world, emphasizing that no dime was borrowed for the project.

He affirmed in confidence while commending the good works of the various construction companies, Commissioner for works and team, that soon, the airport will be the busiest in the country.

Facilities at the airport include two hundred meters by three hundred meters apron, sixty meter width, three point seven kilometer runway, a thirty four point meter control tower, a terminal building, car park for up to seven hundred and fifty cars, two taxi ways, safety zones, diversion channel, fire and water stations, emergency operation centre, a power house and other security features.
