The South-South Female League is the brainchild of the Chairman Edo State Cricket Association Uyi Akpata.

The vision is to use the tournament to discover, harness, develop and promote female cricket primarily in the South-South region and by extension Nigeria.

According to the sponsor of the competition, Uyi Akapata, the South-South female league will provide the platform for female cricketers around the country to participate in a league structure that ensures equal involvement in cricket games and competitions as much as the male contemporaries.

In the meantime, the Pathfinders female cricket team of Port Harcourt has intensified their preparation ahead of the tournament.

The team after booking their qualification for the super 4 event entered into another camping in Port Harcourt.

The team also received a mentorship class from the National Team Coach of the under-17 women’s team in Nigeria while in camp in Port Harcourt.
