More commendations have continued to pour in on the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu by both uniform and non uniform residents in Rivers State over the deployment of two police dogs to the Railway Police Command in the state.

This time, the commendation is coming from the Divisional Police Officer of Railway Police Command in the state, SP Richard Omeri who also thanked the Commissioner of Police in charge of Railway, CP John Ogbonnaya Amadi for the role he played.

The Railway Police boss in the state said the newly deployed security dogs had complemented the efforts of his zero tolerance on crime and criminality in his jurisdiction.

SP Omeri said: “First of all, I want to appreciate the Inspector General of Police and the able leadership of the Railway Commissioner of Police, CP John Ogbonnaya Amadi.

“Policing the Railway community is not a child’s play which was what the IGP saw and deployed two additional police dogs to complement our efforts.

“As we are moving towards 2020, we pray that Nigeria will have much less insecurity records.

“On our part, we are doing our best in compliance with the directive from our superiors.

“With this crime reduction statistics under my watch, by 2020, we all hope that our achievements will be redoubled with the support and cooperation of members of the public.”

Our correspondent reports that residents of the area in their separate testimonies said they can now move freely at night in the area without fear of being attacked by armed bandits.

They said the proactive foot patrol of the police personnel especially at night as well as the arrest of several hoodlums within the Railway community had made news of cash and phone snatching to be things of the past.
