RSG sets up Commission of Inquiry into the May 2018 invasion of High Court and 2019 general election killings

Rivers State Government has set up two judicial commissions of Inquiry to investigate the following events:

1. VIOLENT INVASION AND ATTACK ON THE RIVERS STATE JUDICIARY AND DESTRUCTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY AT THE JUDICIARY COMPLEX, PH ON 11/05/2018

A statement by the commissioner of information and communication, Emma Okah said that the MEMBERS ARE:

1. Hon Justice Simeon C. Amadi – Chairman
2. Ven. Amavey Christian Abbey-Kalio – Member
3. Mrs Anthonia Osademe – Member
4. Sylvester Adaka, Esq – Member

SECRETARY to the Commission: Mr James Enebeli (Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports)

COUNSEL to the Commission: Okogbule Gbasam, Esq (Principal State Counsel, Ministry of Justice)

2. THE VIOLENCE, KILLINGS AND OTHER RELATED ACTS/MATTERS WHICH OCCURED DURING THE FEBRUARY 23RD AND MARCH 9TH, 2019 GENERAL ELECTIONS IN RIVERS STATE

MEMBERS ARE:

1. Hon Justice Monima Danagogo – Chairman
2. Frank Fubara, Esq – Member
3. Dr Mrs Obelebra Adebiyi – Member
4. Monsignor Dr Plus Kii – Member

SECRETARY to the Commission: Mr Paulinus Nsirim

COUNSEL to the Commission: Chidi Boniface Eke (Principal State Counsel, Ministry of Justice, Rivers State)

According to the statement, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will inaugurate the two Commissions of Inquiry on Thursday 28th March, 2019 at the Executive Counsel Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt at 11am.

The statement further urged MEMBERS are requested to be seated at 10.30am.
