CPP calls for violent free elections in Rivers State

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Coalition of Political Parties, Rivers State Chapter CPP has called for free and credible elections across the country.

The Chairman of Coalition of Political Parties in Rivers State Kukang Joseph stated this during a sensitization rally in Port Harcourt.

He said the aim of the group is to create awareness for the peaceful conduct of the elections.

Kukang Joseph also said the group will partner traditional rulers to ensure violence-free elections in Rivers State.

“Currently, our business is preaching peace. In 2019 election, we want to see an atmosphere of peace, non-violent, credible and fair elections to be conducted in Rivers State. That is our utmost business right now”.

“We have been meeting communities chiefs and heads for them to use their local town criers in sensitizing their youths and subjects so that the 2019 election should not be a do or die affair and that their subjects should avoid the temptation of working for any politician that will instigate violence during the process” he said.

The Women Leader of CPP in Rivers State, Mrs. Claribel Whyte said the group will mobilize women and youths to participate actively during the elections.

Whyte Claribel also urged mothers to advise their children not to engage in any electoral fraud during the elections.

She said the group will not tolerate any violence during and after the general elections stating that the process must be free, fair and credible.

The woman leader of CPP in Rivers State also appealed to electorates not to sell their votes.
