Rivers cleric predicts defeat for Buhari in February

As permutations and prophecies over who wins the February 16 Presidential election takes the centre stage in every public discourse, a fiery cleric has predicted a defeat for the incumbent President, Mohammadu Buhari.

The prediction was given by Bishop Moses Kattey who is also the General-Overseer (G.O) of the Commonwealth Covenant Church International in Eleme local government area of Rivers State said.

“I am not prophesying. Mine is a prediction that Buhari will not win or secure his ambitious second-term project as a leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party except a better, credible candidate replaces him.

The vocal cleric who did not mince words described the Buhari-led government as a divided house that cannot stand and characterised by deception, intra-party squabbles in the scheme of governance which has led to unmitigated collateral damage to the security and economy of Nigeria.

“President Mohammadu Buhari-led Government is crisis-ridden, full of lies; people are hungry yet you are promoting agriculture with political sophistry; over twenty million jobs lost within four years of this APC government,” he noted.

Another high point of Kattey’s concern is the high level of insecurity in the North-East, North-West and North-Central regions of the country where Boko-Haram insurgency and other criminal elements are holding sway yet the sitting government is deceptively telling Nigerians that “the Boko Haram has been technically defeated”.

“If Boko Haram has been technically defeated, why are our officers still being attacked and killed including civilians in the North-East; why are Nigerians crying out over the loss of confidence in protecting their lives; cases of killings here and there; he wondered.

Bishop Kattey stated categorically that, “I will not give my blessing to Buhari if I am called upon but I can bless any other credible candidate running under the APC ticket”.

Kattey also described the high level of corrupt leadership in the sitting government system, noting that unless the leadership stops being insincere, bad eggs and sycophants flushed out, the government will not continue and if it does at all cost, then Nigeria would face another economic hardship and insecurity on all fronts.

The Bishop who went spiritual said: “God has told me that a deceptive government or leadership cannot win the hearts and trust of the people they are leading or representing, pointing out that there are so much false prophesies in this government”.
