The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State on Saturday witnessed unprecedented turn out of members during its unit to unit meeting since the party lost control of the central government in 2015.

The unit to unit meeting which took place across the 23 LGAs of the state boosted the assurance of party faithful as they sighted the large number of members who attended the meetings.

A lot of its members who were not showing up for PDP meetings due to their desire to join the APC were fully present at Saturday’s unit to unit meeting according to some chieftains of PDP who spoke with Theportcitynews on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak in such capacity.

“We are 100 percent sure of victory for all candidates of the PDP especially in the state and we will overwhelmingly vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for president,” some party members boasted.

They said the crisis rocking the APC showed that its ideology does not conform to the genuine expectation of Rivers people which they identified as good governance, adding that only PDP has the answer.

On his part, the State Chairman of the Party, Bro. Felix Obuah who expressed no doubt about PDP’s victory at the polls, said:
“We have said it many times and again that God who started the wonderful works in the state through Governor Nyesom Wike, will faithfully complete it by enthroning him once more in the Brick House.

“It is evident that Governor Wike has exceeded expectations through the massive infrastructural development in the state. Time and space would fail me here to enumerate the myriad achievements of Governor Wike in less than four years”,

Bro Obuah said PDP would approach the general elections with confidence and faith in God, bearing in mind that Wike has convinced Rivers people beyond reasonable doubt that he has made judicious use of the mandate given him in 2015.

He therefore urged PDP members not to waver but continue to put their faith and trust in God, predicting no hope in sight for the crisis ridden APC.
