Police arrest two for stabbing poster boy to death

Police in Rivers state, on Tuesday, said it arrested two suspects in connection with the stabbing to death of Chimezie Dike who was killed in Diobu for pasting campaign pictures on a building wall.

The police also stated that preliminary investigation into the identity of the soldier whose dagger was used to stab the victim has begun.

Chimezie Dike was stabbed to death on Saturday by one Henry Ekeozor after an argument ensured while pasting posters of a house of representative candidate of the All Progressive candidate, Collyns Owondah.

Chimezie, according to sources, was not a member of the party but was contracted to paste the posters in the area.

Theportcitynews gathered that among the arrested is the mother of Henry Ekeozor who is also the women leader of the APC in the area.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, said the police would find out where the soldier whose dagger was used for the dastardly act was serving.

Omoni stated, “Two persons have been arrested in connection with the death of the young man and investigation is ongoing to unravel where the soldier is serving.

“We are also investigating to unravel the circumstances that led to the stabbing and killing of the young man.”

He stated that the arrested suspects had been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Port Harcourt, adding that any person found culpable in the matter would be prosecuted according to the law.
