Sekibo calls of harmonization of historical facts in Ogu community

A traditional ruler in Rivers State, King Nicholas Dickson Ibiebele Nimenibo, has said that the use of historical records by communities in the state will bring an end to communal crisis and violence.

Nimenibo, who is the traditional ruler of Ogu community in Ogu/Bolo local government area of Rivers State, made the call in Port Harcourt while speaking at the public presentation and launching of his autobiography, “Before The Mantle”.

He stated that it has been his desire to put on record his life experiences from a tender age for future generation to read and digest it for their knowledge.

The monarch said the book would be beneficial to all Wakirike ethnic nationalities and the people of Ogu community in particular.

Earlier in his speech, chairman of the occasion, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, called on the monarch to set up a committee for the harmonisation of historical facts of Ogu community.

Sekibo stated that when records are kept the issue of distorted historical facts would be a thing of the past and commended the monarch for his efforts in tracing and putting on record the dynasty of the community.
