Ikuru people celebrate SAN conferment on one of their own

The people of Ikuru town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have expressed profound happiness on the honors conferred on one of their own son of the soil, Chief Metong Urombo J.P, SAN as the very first SAN in the entire Andoni Local Government Area, who has been elevated to the apex law making body in Nigeria (SAN).

Out of the 163 lawyers that applied, 30 lawyers were selected, which Chief Metong B. U, was among the selected few.

While speaking to newsmen, the king of Ikuru town, His Majesty, King (Dr.) Aaron Miller Ikuru, KSC, JP, a retired educationist, who also mentored chief Metong SAN, used the medium to urge youths to thrive in excellence, especially in their area of competence. As the same honor will be giving to every individual who did excellently well in their chosen discipline.

Chief Metong B. U SAN, on his part, said the conferment as a member of SAN, out of 163 lawyers that applied, was Gods own doing. Although, he said the journey wasn’t smooth but his faith in God had paved ways for him.

He also used the medium to encourage youths of Ikuru town to engage their youthful strength in gainful and meaningful cause, so they will not end up being relegated to the background of poverty and idleness.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Ikuru town council of chiefs and a former director of Radio Rivers, 99.1fm,chief Michael W. Omayi also applauded the entire people of Ikuru town, most especially the king for always recognizing and celebrating excellence in the community.
