Kalu to Ihedioha, Wike: ‘Don’t Impose Presidential Candidate On PDP’

Chairman of Stercoll Group and Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, Dr Emeka Kalu has warned a Guber aspirant in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha to desist from the imposition of candidates in the coming presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Kalu who was reacting to the revelation that Ihedioha, along with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike is planning to impose someone of their choice and not a unanimous candidate on the party, said it was appaling that a group of men would contemplate forcing Nigerians to accept their choice.

He said that if the party ends up with an unpopular candidate and eventually loses the election to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), no one should run away from the country.

According to him: “It saddens me to learn that two noble gentlemen I respect so much in our great party are planning to influence the coming presidential primaries in favour of their own candidate. If it’s true, then not only is this sad but a dangerous trend that will demarket the PDP and cost us the coming presidential elections.

“Governor Nyesom Wike and Chief Emeka Ihedioha must rethink and do the needful now. They obviously are on a suicide mission and if they impose this calamity on our party, Buhari will chase them out of Nigeria. Posterity will judge anyone who puts Nigerians in harm’s way for his own selfish or ulterior gains.

“Ihedioha should not forget in a hurry too how he was made by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. They must allow the primaries to hold and whoever emerges should run as the party’s presidential candidate. Don’t forget that all Nigerians are looking up to PDP at this point and it will be suicidal if we fail them”, Kalu warned.
