Senator’s wife empowers over 200 widows in Rivers East

Just like the Holy Bible declared in the book of John chapter 15:13; there is no greater love than this: that a person would lay down his life for the sake of his friends, Bariya Abe, wife of the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe, extended hands of fellowship, care and love to over two hundred widows in Rivers-East Senatorial District during a prayer summit at Elele, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers state.

The well-attended prayer summit put together by women leaders in Rivers Senatorial District to give women across Rivers state an opportunity to commit the affairs of the state to God in prayers also witnessed a rare display of love and care.

About two hundred and thirty-four widows, drawn from the eight Local Government Areas that make up the Rivers East Senatorial District, were empowered with household items and clothing.

In a short speech, Mrs Abe charged the women to always stand in the gap spiritually for Rivers State and the country at large. She noted that there was no challenge facing Rivers State that fervent and effectual prayers could not solve. She also requested that the praise, worship and empowerment program should hold in the three Senatorial Districts of Rivers State.

In reaction to Bariya Abe’s goodwill, the forum of women leaders, Rivers East Senatorial District, commended her for uplifting the spirit of Rivers women and for always standing strong with the downtrodden, especially the windows in the society.

Also, Allwell Onyesoh commended Rivers East women for their steadfastness in prayers for the course of the struggle to take over the brick house in 2019 from PDP.

He urged them to remain steadfast in prayers for nothing good comes easy, and also expressed his joy to the persons who organized the prayer and noted that this will mark a new beginning in the party because with God all things are possible.
