NNPC to establish Mega Filling Station at the Traditional headquarter of Ogoni Land – Gani Topba

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation is set to establish a mega filling station at Bori, the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni people.

This was disclosed by the National Coordinator of the Ken Saro Wiwa Associates Gani Topba after receiving an acknowledgement letter from the ministry of petroleum resources.

He said the building of the Mega Filling station will create wealth and job opportunities for the people of Ogoni Land.

“We assure the Ogoni people that the Ken Saro-Wiwa Associates is working hard to make sure it attracts investors and create wealth for Ogoni people.

“However the ministry of petroleum and the NNPC have agreed to build a Mega filling station in the traditional headquarter of Ogoni, being Bori.

“This will create employment, this will also make our people get access to kerosene, fuel in the normal Government prices.

“And you know that that will also discourage illegal bunkering because our people will get access to the Petroleum product.”

Gani Topba also commended the Minister of State for Petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu, for the approval and warned the people of Ogoni against sponsoring violence that may prevent investors into coming to the area.

“Well the Ken Saro Wiwa Associates on behalf of the Ogoni people, also thank the Honorable Minister for Petroleum for his courage to quickly approve this proposal.

“So I call on all Ogoni sons to give support to Government at every level.

“There’s no way such project will take place in Ogoni, if we allow people to sponsor violence in the area.

“I want to also use the medium, to reassure the Ogoni people that the Service Chiefs in the country are prepared to protect lives and properties in Ogoni, and Ogoni people must continue to support security agents in the land.”
