Port Harcourt: IGP Intelligence Response Team nab house boy for killing Naval officer and girlfriend.

The IGP Intelligence Response Team have arrested one Taddues Jaja for the murder of a Naval Officer and his girlfriend in Borikiri area of Port Harcourt.

Theportcitynews.com gathered that his arrest followed series of investigations into the reported death of one Lorren F; identified as the girlfriend of the deceased, LT. Abubakar Yahaya Yusuf, a serving personnel with the Nigeria Navy in his official quarters in Borikiri Port-Harcourt and the subsequent disappearance of the Naval Officer.

According to a statement by the Rivers State Police Command PRO, Nnamdi Omoni, operatives of the IGP-Intelligence Response Team swung into immediate action and with the aid of Technical intelligence and unrelenting follow-up by the Operatives, led to the arrest of the 28-year-old suspect.

Omoni said that upon the arrest of the suspect, he made very graphic confessions on how he murdered Lorren, the girlfriend of the Naval Officer during an argument and that in a bid to cover up his crime, he also murdered the unsuspecting officer by poisoning his drink with an overdose of a drug named “Talen”.

Omoni said that the suspect equally sent a text message with the late officer’s phone to one Joy- a friend of the late girlfriend, stating that the Navy Officer had murdered his girlfriend over a dispute. The suspect then drove the corpse of the officer to a forest in Ubima and burnt the lifeless body.

The Command PRO stated that the suspect took operatives to the forest where he carried out the dastardly act and the Carcass of the late Naval Officer was found burnt beyond recognition, adding that with the aid of a pathologist, the remains were recovered and deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital mortuary.

Exhibit recovered from the suspect include the car of the naval officer which the culprit had already sold to a buyer in Benin city and the Naval Officer’s phone he sold to another buyer in Port-Harcourt.

Omoni noted that due arrangement will be made to enable Operatives to visit the scene of the crime which is the official quarters of the deceased Naval Officer. The perpetrator was his houseboy, he added.

The police equally advised the public to carry out background checks and be careful with the type of aides or helpers people keep in their home.
