The Portharcourt Zonal Coordinator of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mr. Gershon Dandak, has revealed that a new technology has been introduced to check malpractices in the forthcoming examination.

The WAEC zonal coordinator disclosed this in his office to our correspondent Tina Stephen, shortly after the 66th WAEC Day celebration in Portharcourt.

He said that the council has doubled its efforts in ensuring that the new technology in place, is used to conduct a hitch free examination in the 23 local government areas of the state come 27th March, 2018.

“For the forthcoming examination, we are prepared to ensure that no form of malpractice, if not completely eliminated to its barest minimum. We are not leaving any stone unturned, we have involved every stakeholder, Parent Teachers Association, security agencies, ANCOPS, we have also advocated with students. We are sure, that we are ready for a hitch free examination with little or no malpractice.”

Mr. Dandak urged parents to properly prepare their children for the WAEC examination as there won’t be room for any form of gratification to anybody during and after the exam.

He advised students to study hard to pass their examination, adding that they shouldn’t place their hope in exam malpractice of any kind.

“Students fail because they don’t read, he or she is not well taught, not enrolled into a good school or probably they are hoping to get involved in gratification” he said.
