RIWAMA Warns Rivers Residents Against Indiscriminate disposal of Waste

The Director, Administration and Human Resources of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency RIWAMA, Mr. Marvin S. Abbey, has warned residents of the state against indiscriminate disposal of waste.

Abbey also warned against littering public places including flyovers and adjourning spaces within Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

He noted that defaulters would be arrested and prosecuted in line with all relevant and extant laws.

“Residents, therefore, are enjoined to clean their surroundings and dispose of waste at approved public receptacles and at the approved dumping time of 6:00pm to 10:00pm daily.”

RIWAMA director revealed that, “the Enforcement Team of the Agency has been mobilized to act in line with this exercise
RIWAMA enjoins all residents to imbibe the culture of cleanliness, thus ensuring a healthy and habitable environment”
