Police arrest kidnappers, rescue victims in Ikwerre.

A teenage kidnap suspect alongside his gang members was at the weekend, arrested by a combined team of security operatives after abducting travelers along Port-Harcourt/Owerri road in Ikwerre area of Rivers state.

The suspects were said to be among the group that attacked and abducted travelers going to Owerri a few days ago.

A coordinated operation by security agents consisting of police and army – stormed the kidnapper’s den in a bush where they rescued the abducted victims and apprehended the suspects.

However, some of the kidnappers fled on sighting the security team led by the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel O. Nwanosike.

The suspects who are yet to be identified have been taken into police custody for further interrogation.
