RSUTH Launches Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy for Patients with Kidney Injury

As part of efforts geared towards improving access to quality health care, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), has launched the Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, CRRT, Dialysis Service for critically ill patients with acute kidney injury.

‎RSUTH’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Chizindu Alikor while hailing the development, reiterated the hospital’s commitment to providing quality renal care, especially for the critically ill on management in the intensive care unit.

‎The Head of RSUTH Renal Centre, Dr. Eleki Beniboba, described the CRRT machine as a game-changer, noting that the machine would enable the hospital to manage complex cases effectively.


‎The CRRT machine, designed for hemodynamically unstable patients, is expected to reduce mortality rates by up to 60 percent and promises to ensure improved patient outcomes.
