According to reports from BSNSports, Jordan Torunarigha, a defender for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is close to signing with Hamburger SV, a team in the German Bundesliga.
After his contract with KAA Gent, a club in the Belgian Pro League, came to an end, the adaptable defender has been negotiating with the management of Hamburger SV, who have recently been promoted, over the last few weeks.
Hamburg, returning to the Bundesliga, has made their second summer signing with the acquisition of Jordan Torunarigha (27) from KAA Gent on a free transfer.

Upon joining HSV, Torunarigha expressed: “I am already familiar with the Bundesliga and I am eagerly anticipating my return to this remarkable league, particularly with a club that has the rich history of HSV.
“The management has put in considerable effort to give me a positive impression. I am excited to meet my new teammates, coaches, and staff, as well as the fans and the city. I intend to leverage all my strengths and experience to help us have a successful season together, achieving our objectives.”
Torunarigha significantly enhances Hamburg’s defence as they return to the top division after being relegated in 2018. The Nigerian defender made 73 appearances in the Bundesliga during his time at Hertha BSC before moving to KAA Gent in 2022.
Stefan Kuntz, the HSV board member responsible for sports, remarked: “Jordan is a composed, professional, and mature individual.
“He has made a notable advancement in his development, marked by his heading and tackling skills, which complement his impressive speed. Jordan fits our requirements perfectly due to his comprehensive defensive abilities and his capacity to play from the back.
