Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, recently addressed a social media user who attempted to caution him about his close ties with the Igbo community. The troll, going by the name Yakbel on X (formerly Twitter), suggested that Davido, being of Yoruba descent, should be wary of potential betrayal from his Igbo associates.
In the now-viral post, Yakbel wrote, “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Igbos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Igbos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”

However, Davido swiftly dismissed the divisive remark with a surprising revelation about his heritage. In a concise yet impactful response, the award-winning singer stated, “Lol. I am Igbo by blood.”
