Vice Admiral Retrieves Vehicles from Suspended Deputy Governor

The Rivers State government has clarified that retrieving official vehicles from suspended Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu’s residence is a lawful administrative action aimed at securing government property. Three vehicles, including two Toyota Hilux vans and one Hiace bus, were recovered from Odu’s official residence.

The retrieval followed a routine directive to secure government assets.The administration maintains that recovering its assets is not executive overreach and emphasizes prudent management of public resources.

The government questioned the motives of those criticizing the move, asking what legitimate purpose the vehicles served in Odu’s premises over a month after the state of emergency was declared.

The administration urged residents to focus on its efforts to restore stability and good governance in Rivers State. The vehicle retrieval is part of the aftermath of the state of emergency declared in Rivers State. The sole administrator has taken various actions, including suspending boards and sacking political appointees installed by the suspended governor.
