A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion on notice seeking leave to appeal as an interested party in a suit filed by William Fialasoika and 24 others against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over the party’s state congresses.
The motion was filed by the sacked PDP State Chairman, Chukwuemeka Aaron, on behalf of individuals purportedly elected as state executives: Oye Fubara Igenewari, representing local government executives, and ThankGod Beke, representing ward executives.

The applicants sought permission to appeal the judgment that removed them from office.
However, in a ruling delivered by Justice Stephen Jumbo, the court dismissed the application, stating that the PDP, as the defendant in the original suit, had already filed an appeal against the ruling that nullified the congresses and dissolved the party’s executives at all levels in the state.
It will be recalled that on January 13, 2025, Justice Jumbo, in a judgment on the suit filed by Fialasoika and others, nullified the PDP congresses and sacked the party’s state, local government, and ward executives led by Aaron.
