Rivers State Governor Fubara Urges Calm Amid Ongoing Political Crisis, Reaffirms Commitment to Rule of Law

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has addressed the people of the state amid the ongoing political crisis, urging them to remain peaceful and law-abiding.

In a press release, Governor Fubara emphasized his commitment to constitutional order and the rule of law, prioritizing the protection of lives and property, and ensuring the continuous progress of the state.

He highlighted his administration’s efforts to implement the agreed terms of President Bola Tinubu’s intervention to broker peace, including welcoming back commissioners who had previously resigned.

Governor Fubara also noted his swift compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment to return the state to normalcy, stressing that these steps were taken to foster peace, unity, and stability in Rivers State.

Despite these efforts, the governor accused members of the Rivers State House of Assembly of frustrating his administration’s efforts, making genuine peace and progress difficult.
