Pride of Rivers Retains Continental Elite Status

According to the latest rankings released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Rivers United FC has once again cemented its place among the continent’s footballing elite. The Pride of Rivers secured a commendable 26th position on the IFFHS Club Ranking – Africa, a testament to the team’s consistent hard work and unwavering pursuit of excellence.

This achievement underscores Rivers United’s status as a top-tier club in African football. Notably, the club stands as the sole representative of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) within the top 30, highlighting its dominance within the domestic league and its growing influence on the African football landscape. 

The IFFHS rankings, which encompass the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, place Rivers United alongside renowned African clubs such as Wydad AC (25th), Maniema Union (27th), and Stade Tunisien (28th). While Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids occupied the top three spots, Rivers United’s presence among these esteemed clubs is a significant accomplishment.
