Abolga Student’s Database Management Committee Commends HON. Vincent On Human Capital Development

The Abolga Students Database Collection and Verification Committee and the National Union of Abua-Odual Students Worldwide (NUABOS) have commended the Executive Chairman of Abua-Odual Local Government Council, Hon. Vincent Reuben Obu, for prioritizing human capital development of Abolga students nationwide.

According to the Chairman of the Database Verification Committee, Dr. Goodluck Owaks Miwari, the data collection and verification exercise currently ongoing in the council is a first-of-its-kind initiative since the council’s inception. Dr. Miwari described the exercise as “a right step in the right direction.”

The verification exercise, which kicked off with students from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, aims to cover all students from various universities, polytechnics, colleges, seminaries, and other institutions. This initiative is designed to support the educational pursuits, dreams, and potentials of Abolga students.

Dr. Miwari explained that the database management committee is working tirelessly to ensure that all Abolga students are captured in the database. He noted that the exercise is not only aimed at gathering data but also at providing support to students in their academic endeavors.

“The database will enable us to identify the needs of our students and provide targeted support,” Dr. Miwari said. “We are committed to ensuring that our students receive the best possible support to succeed in their studies.”

The National President of NUABOS, Kebin Sokari-Peters, also commended Hon. Obu for his bold step in prioritizing human capital development. Peters expressed appreciation for the kind gesture and noted that the Executive Chairman had fulfilled his campaign promises.

“We are grateful to Hon. Obu for his commitment to the development of Abolga students,” Peters said. “His administration has demonstrated a clear understanding of the importance of education in driving development.”

Peters also thanked Hon. Obu for providing transportation fare to students who participated in the verification exercise. He noted that the gesture was a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to supporting students.

Some beneficiary students, including Kubi Korim and Blessing Benjamin from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, praised the initiative as a step towards improving the standard of living of students. They assured that they would massively support Hon. Obu and Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, in the upcoming 2027 election.

“We are grateful for this initiative,” Korim said. “It shows that our leaders are committed to our welfare and development.”

Benjamin added that the initiative would go a long way in supporting students who are struggling to make ends meet. She noted that many students face numerous challenges, including financial difficulties, and that the initiative would provide much-needed support.

The students’ database management committee and NUABOS have expressed their gratitude to Hon. Obu for his commitment to human capital development, and they look forward to continued support for Abolga students.

The initiative has also been praised by community leaders, who noted that it is a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to development. They expressed hope that the initiative would be sustained and expanded to cover other areas of need.

As the verification exercise continues, the students’ database management committee and NUABOS have urged all Abolga students to participate and take advantage of the opportunity. They noted that the initiative is a chance for students to access support and resources that can help them succeed in their studies.
