Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff has indicated that the Dutch club are prepared to make Tolu Arokodare’s stay in Amsterdam permanent at the end of the season.
The Nigeria international joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer transfer window and has made an impressive start to life at the Eredivisie side.
The 25-year-old has reportedly registered 10 goals and three assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for the former European champions.
Arokodare’s loan agreement is understood to include an option to buy, reportedly valued at almost €20 million.
Cruyff said the club had already reached an agreement on the key details of a potential permanent transfer, including the striker’s salary.
“Everything has already been arranged. His salary too, although he did ask for a pay rise at the last press conference,” Cruyff told Ziggo Sport.
The comments suggest Ajax are making plans to retain the Nigerian forward beyond his current loan spell, although the permanent transfer will depend on the terms of the agreement being completed.
