2019: Atiku appoints Gbenga Daniel campaign DG

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appointed a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel as the Director General of his Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The ex-VP is seeking the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take another shot at the presidency in the 2019 general elections.

Atiku in a statement on Monday, by his Media Office said Daniel’s experience both in politics and the private sector would have bearing on his presidential campaign.
“Daniel was a two-term governor of Ogun State from 2003 to 2011 with extensive network within the PDP. Before his election as governor in 2003, OGD as he is better known was the Chief Executive Officer of a leading engineering company in the country,” he said.

According to the statement, other appointments into the campaign organisation would be announced in due course.
