R’State Govt. Inaugurates New Committee To Prepare Ahead of Nigeria’s 2024 Independence Celebration

As Nigeria’s 64th independence draws closer, the Rivers State government has inaugurated a new committee, the Central Planning Committee (CPC), to handle the coming independence day celebration.

The inauguration ceremony was marked on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Dr. Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), emphasised the duties of the committee member to be executed during the celebration period.

Dr. Danagogo said Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved all the programs for the 2024 Independence Day Celebration.

He said the preparation will run according to the stipulated plan as scheduled.

Highlighting the activities ahead of the ceremony, Dr. Danagogo announced that Juma’at Prayers will be marked on September 27 Friday, and on Sunday, September 29th, the Thanksgiving Service will be held at Inter-Denominational Church.

While on October 1, all celebration leads to Sharks Stadium for the grand finale of the event, as several occasions will be marked to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

Expressing his gratitude, he thanked the security agencies and MDAs for their partnership to ensure successful celebration and a conducive environment while carrying out their duties professionally.

He noted that a continuous meeting will be drawn with the CPC regularly ahead of the grand finale.
