Rivers United FC is deeply saddened by the sudden death of Hon. Ekene Adams, a respected figure in Nigerian sports. As the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Adams was a vital force in the promotion of football and other sports in Nigeria. His commitment to the development and promotion of the sport was unparalleled and his efforts contributed significantly to the growth and popularity of football in the country.

Ekene Adams’ commitment to sport was reflected in his many initiatives to improve the infrastructure and governance of sports in Nigeria. He contributed to the implementation of policies beneficial to athletes, clubs and the entire sports community.
