African Youth Union Commission, AYUC Flags off Rivers State Chapter

The African Youth Union Commission has on Friday 11th May 2018 , held it’s inaugural meeting and flag off of it’s Rivers State Chapter.

Amb. Graham Elendu, the National Publicity Secretary who represented the Country Rep Salam Lateef Olademeji at the occasion, said the body is an affiliate of the African Union, which coordinates the activities of youths under the African Union.

On what the Body wants to achieve with the Flagg off of the Rivers State chapter, he said there is need for a formidable structure in every state hence the reason to have a Rivers State structure.

He also emphasized on the need for youths to shun electoral violence, because peace is priceless, and called on youths to get involved in politics and governance.

The Highlight of the occasion was the inauguration of an electoral body, with the following as members:

Nsaayor Wilson – Chairman

Mrs Happiness Ezechukwu – member

Raphael Nsonne – member

Adeline Chinenche Wofu – member

They’ve been given a mandate to conduct elections within 4 weeks to elect officers for the Rivers State Chapter.
