Duruebube escapes bench warrant at Port Harcourt Magistrate

Tina Amanda

The Pastor of Mercy House Church International accused of defiling a sixteen-year-old girl has escaped a bench warrant at the Magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt.

This followed after the prosecution Counsel Glad Amannah applied for a bench warrant because Pastor Duruebube’s absence in court was not supported by a medical report by his Counsel.

Defendant Counsel had informed the court that his client was sick and had an accident as such could not make it to court.

The Presiding Magistrate, Chief Magistrate Obiageri Anugbum, however, declined to grant the request of the prosecution Counsel in the interest of justice.

The court declined with the reason that it is the first time Defendant failed to appear in court, the court then adjourned to 27 October 2022, for the continuation of the case.

Recall that Pastor Felix Duruebube faces two counts charges of defilement and forcing the girl to take an oath with him.
