OSPAC operative shoots Air Force soldier to death in Rivers

The Community Development Committee Chairman (CDC) of Omuanwa Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ugo Chinnah, says a member of local vigilante Group, OSPAC who alleged shot to death, a personnel of the Nigerian Airforce in the community has been apprehended and handed over to the Isiokpo Police Area Command.

In an interview with theportcitynews, the CDC Chairman said that the Airforce personnel allegedly went to the OSPAC office on Tuesday to order the release of a suspected cultist who was in the process of denouncing cultism after he was arrested by OSPAC.

CHINNAH stated that the said OSPAC member whose real name is Progress Emecheta but popularly called TWO Face, and who was also a cult leader before joining OSPAC allegedly pushed the Airforce personnel who is a native of the community identified as KASIKE EUGENE out of OSPAC office.

The Omuanwa CDC Chairman claimed that the Air force personnel later mobilized with his friend and went to the house of the OSPAC personnel and allegedly beat him up which made the OSPAC personnel shoot the Air force personnel leading to his death.

The CDC Chairman condemned the killing of the Airforce personnel, noting that the law should take it cause.

He, however, advised the Youth of the community not to do things that are inimical to peace of the community, adding that it was a collective decision of the community to bring OSPAC and not his sole decision.

Reacting to the incident, acting Public Relation Officer Rivers State Police Command, CSP Grace Iringe Koko, said the suspect has been arrested and is currently detained in State CID and investigation is on going.
