The Senator representing the Rivers South East Senatorial district, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has officially declared to run for the office of Governor under the All Progressive Congress, APC ,on Monday, the 25th day of April 2018 at the Freedom House, GRA Port Harcourt.

The Senator finally put to rest, rumours and counter rumours over his ambition, saying he is now ready to vie for the coveted seat at the brick House.

“Having taken all these into consideration, I Magnus Ngei Dornubari Abe, I have decided to seek the nomination of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Rivers State for the office of the Governor of Rivers State.

“In doing so, I want to make it abundantly clear that there is no gunshot ambition. I realize and accept the opportunity for others who are so interested, to also offer themselves.

“I want to assure the party, assure Rivers people and assure Nigerians, that if there is a free, credible and transparent process that picks any candidate other than Senator Abe, I will not only support that candidate, I will lead the campaign for that candidate.

“But I will only do that, where members of the APC in Rivers State are given an opportunity to decide on who they want, without intimidation, without oppression and without undue stress. Where that is done, I want to assure the APC that I am a loyal member of this party and I will work with whomever the party puts forward.

The declaration was witnessed by members of the House of representatives, Elder Chidi Wihioka and Maurice Poronen, Chief Allwell Onyesoh, Senator Wilson Ake and Rt Hon Chibodum Wuche.
