Bonny Council Chairman dies 3 months after assuming office

David Irimagha, the chairman of Bonny Island Local Government Area of Rivers State has died three months after assuming office.

It was gathered that the council boss slept on Friday night but did not wake up on Saturday.

He and 22 other LGA chairmen were sworn-in during an elaborate ceremony at the executive chamber of the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt on June 18.

A source who confirmed the development to TPCN said an emergency meeting of the Bonny Council of Chiefs was summoned earlier in the day following of his death.

He is survived by his wife and children.
