Efemini emerges UNIPORT Deputy Vice-Chancellor

A Professor of Philosophy of Development in the faculty of Humanities, University of Port Harcourt, Andrew Efemini has emerged the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics of the University.

Efemini, a Fulbright Scholar was appointed by the University’s management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill.

Sources within the University’s Senate who confirmed the development to our correspondent, said the appointment was expected owing to his valuable contributions to the University.

They further described it as a new dawn for the University.

He had previously held the position of Dean of Student affairs under the administration of Professor Joseph Ajienka.

Students of the institution who spoke to theportcitynews expressed optimism that his appointment will bring positive changes to the academic environment of the University.

According to them, the professor is a notable supporter of students, both in academic and other extra-curricular activities, urging him to put the interests of the students as top priority in discharge of his responsibilities.
