Sound Sultan dies from cancer

Veteran Nigerian musician Olarenwaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan has lost the battle to cancer today, 11th July 2021.

The popular musician was reported earlier this year to be battling throat cancer in a hospital in the United Kingdom.

Commenting on the death of the super star, his brother, Dr. Kayode Fasasi announced the passing of his brother this morning. He begged the Nigerian public to for some privacy while they mourn their beloved brother.

He wrote “It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our multitalented, veteran singer, rapper and song writer, Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.
He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.”

The veteran musician is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.
