Chima Ikwunado’s murder: Second witness tenders evidence in court

Tina Amanda

The murder trial of four dismissed Police Officers for the murder of late Auto-mechanic, Chima Ikwunado and the torture of four others continued today in a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt with the second witness Ifeanyi Osuji tendering his picture as evidence of his torture.

The witness insisted before the court that the 1st Defendant, Ifeanyi Ayogu was the particular dismissed Police Officer who inflicted machete injury on him during interrogation, at the former E-crack Unit Mile one Police Station.

The trial Judge, Justice Florence Fiberesima, admitted the picture as an exhibit in the case after the 1st Defendant Counsel objected to the tendering of the picture evidence in court.

Ifeanyi Osuji testified further that the Police charged the four of them to court after torturing them brutally at the Police cell, noting that they were taken to prison after their court appearance.

Our report said that Justice Fiberesima adjourned the matter to the 29th and 30th of March, 2021 for the continuation of the hearing.
