Bonny youths protest in Port Harcourt over incessant pirates’ attack

Youths from the Bonny Island have begun a protest in Port Harcourt over the increasing state of insecurity on the Bonny waterways.

An attack by sea pirates on the Bonny waterways last week left at least two persons dead.

The deceased were attacked while enroute the island from Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

They were identified as Dienye Allison and Ibifubara Mcdonald Banigo.

It was gathered that the commercial boat ferrying the duo was attacked in the middle of the water by the pirate. While they were pushed into the sea by the pirates, others were cut with machetes and their valuables stolen.

Their death had sparked a protest on the Internet with #endbonnykillings hashtag last week.

The protesting youths who blocked the Rivers State Government House gate are calling on Governor Nyesom Wike to save them from such attacks.
