The National Broadcasting Station (NBC) on Monday sanctioned and fined Arise TV, African Independent Television (AIT), and Channels Television between N2million and N3million over their alleged roles in the escalation of violence across the nation.
The NBC had last week warned all television and radio stations against reporting the #EndSARS protests in a manner that could embarrass the government or private individuals or cause disaffection, incite to panic or rift in the society.
The three major broadcast stations were accused of airing unverified images of the alleged shooting.
Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the acting Director-General of NBC announced this at a press conference in Abuja.
