By Brave Dickson

One Chinaza Eke, ‘m’ of 26 years old has been remanded at the Port Harcourt Correction Centre by Chief Magistrate Nneka Eze-Obuzor for robbing Joy Emoghe and many others of their money and properties around the Oyigbo axis of Rivers State.

Speaking with our correspondent, the trial prosecutor, Inspector Aaron Nsirem said Eke belongs to a robbery syndicate of six suspects.

The prosecutor said: “Eke is a suspect who was arrested at the Oyigbo axis of Rivers State.

“They are syndicate of six suspects who confessed that they belong to junior Vikings confraternity who specialize in robbing people and students around Oyigbo junction.

“When their victims alight from vehicles or tricycles, the syndicate will dispossess them of their money and properties and inflict injuries on any victim that tries to resist them.

“But luck ran out of them when Eke was arrested and confessed that they are six in number.

“Presently, Eke is standing trial for robbery and other offences bordering on cultism among others.

“They are the gang that robbed a UNIPORT student who was just returning from school, stole her hand bag containing N200,000 worth of phone, iPad and a physical cash of N68,000, all in her bag..

“The syndicate ran away with the items and Eke has confessed that him and his gang have shared all the items stolen from the UNIPORT student.

“Presently, the case has been ordered to be sent to the state Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice while Eke is being remanded in prison custody pending DPP’s advice.”
