A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Achinike Goodluck, has reacted to allegations that Governor Wike is harbouring plans to recruit card carrying members of the PDP, as neighborhood watch officers.

Mr Achinike described the allegations as a ploy by the opposition to smear the good intentions of the Governor.

Achineke noted that the state Government has done well in the area of security, and asked the public to continue to support the efforts of the government in keeping the state free from insecurity for businesses to thrive.

“Putting in place, a platform that will check menace, abuse, kidnap and all forms of social vices that would truncate the peace of the state is a priority for all.

“What the opposition is trying to do now, they’ve seen what the Governor is doing. They are throwing tantrums on what he is doing.

“They’re trying to disorganize the security apparatus and security platforms that has been put in place” he said.
